Make the words yours
Wishes about light, warmth and time together suit the holiday and almost anyone who celebrates it.
Keep the card about Hanukkah itself rather than comparing it with Christmas or other December holidays.
Use DETAIL for a tradition you've shared or heard them talk about, such as a family recipe or a game night. If you're not sure, a warm general wish is better than a guess.

When Hanukkah falls
Hanukkah, also spelled Chanukah, lasts eight nights, with one more candle lit each night. It commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem.
In 2026, Hanukkah begins at sundown on Friday, December 4, and ends at nightfall on Saturday, December 12. The dates follow the Hebrew calendar, so they move from year to year. Send your card so it arrives by the first night.
Use the message in your own card
Copy the wording into a card or a message you send yourself. Replace NAME with your name and DETAIL with the tradition or memory you want to name; remove any brackets that remain.
Choose only words you are comfortable sending. This page supplies message ideas, so keep personal names and memories in the card or document you are preparing.
