Thank-you card messages
Thank-you messages for a gift
Name the gift, then say how you'll use it or how it made you feel. Avoid a thank-you that could have been written without opening the present.

Make the words yours
In every message, DETAIL is the gift itself. Name it plainly, such as 'blue scarf', 'cookbook' or 'gift card', so the note could only be about your present.
For money or a gift card, thank them for their generosity and say what you plan to put it toward. You don't need to mention the amount.
Send it within a week or two if you can, especially after a holiday or birthday. A short note sent soon is better than a long one sent late.
